The Company insists on corporate governance, values ​​social responsibility, and proactively balances various stakeholders’ interests, in order to move on in line with the international development trend as the first priority, create a competitive, energy-independent and sustainable circular business strategy, practice the social participation and environmental protection sustainable development goals, respond to the global net-zero trend, and achieve the net-zero emission sustainable business by 2050 in response to the national policy.

Greenhouse Gas Reduction Goals

• The Company proactively values the issue about greenhouse gas emissions. In addition to planning the use of eco-friendly packaging materials for launched products and products under R&D, it also plans to select suppliers that satisfy the green procurement policy.
• The Company plans to reduce carbon emissions by 0.5~1% each year and 3% in total in 2028. The Company is proactively communicating to colleagues that they should turn off lights, control the temperature of air conditioners, save water, and purchase the equipment with eco labelling or in compliance with the green procurement policy for the Company as possible as they can.

Promotional Measures and Achievement Status

During the monthly meetings in 2024, the Company promoted the energy-conservation policy proactively, including requiring colleagues to turn off the air conditioners promptly after the meetings, confirming that colleagues who need to work overtime on holidays can work at the same time to reduce the time they spend in using the lights and air conditioners. Additionally, the Company selects the electrical appliances with energy-conservation labelling when planning to purchase the office appliances (such as refrigerators/lights), and the products posing minimum hazard to the environment when planning to purchase any other supplies. For example, the Company adopts ABC-type fire extinguishers completely.

In order to address the potential risks and opportunities that climate changes pose on the Company currently and in the future, the Company continues to care and implement environmental protection-related issues and environmental improvements. Therefore, based on the water resource or waste management policy, the Company primarily aims at energy conservation, reduction, change of habits and effective control.

Water Resource Management

For the time being, the Company is engaged in small batch production by its pilot plant, but doesn’t consume massive quantity of water for production. Upon evaluation, it is not necessary for the Company to execute the management policy on water consumption, intensity and water reduction preliminarily. Notwithstanding, the Company has disclosed water consumption data for the past two years voluntarily. Further, in response to the energy-conservation and carbon reduction strategy, the Company adopts relevant recycling methods to recall all recyclable goods, and also regularly promotes and audits the energy conservation, water conservation, reuse of recycled goods, and zoning of air conditioners and lighting control, in order to properly use resources and reduce carbon emissions by 0.5~1% in the same year and 3% in total in 2028.

Waste Management

In 2024, the Company promoted that employees should bring their own cups with them to reduce the generation of paper or plastic waste, including purchase of beverages in barrels for the monthly meetings and allowance of employees to bring their own cups with them to reduce the generation of plastic waste. Meanwhile, the palladium alloy consumed during the development by the Company’s key component development unit is recycled properly to reduce the generation of metal waste. In 2023 and 2024, the Company has recycled the palladium alloy for twice, and the palladium alloy weighing 544.5 grams in total was recycled.

In line with our commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility, the company has established an environmental management system related to product quality and safety, in compliance with the ISO 13485 Medical Device Quality Management System requirements. This includes clean zone control in operational areas, pollution prevention, and workplace environment maintenance. In addition, Waste Management and Laboratory Management Work Instruction have been developed to minimize the environmental impact of our operations, as we continue to move toward our sustainable development goals.

Structure of the Environmental Management System

The company’s environmental management system primarily includes the following components:

• Environmental Monitoring Procedures: Establish clear management guidelines for personnel and the facility environment to ensure that the quality of products meets basic safety and health standards.
• Production Area Management Work Instruction: Ensure cleanliness and safety within production areas to prevent any adverse impact on product quality and the environment.
• Pest Management Work Instruction: Develop and implement pest prevention and control plans within factory work areas. Regular treatments and monitoring are carried out to maintain a hygienic and safe working environment, preventing harmful organisms from affecting products and personnel health.
• Waste Management Work Instruction: Proper classification, collection, storage, and disposal of waste generated during production and at the end of the product life cycle, ensuring regulatory compliance and reducing environmental impact.
• Laboratory Management Work Instruction: Effectively manage laboratory environments, equipment, and chemicals to minimize potential environmental risks associated with laboratory operations.

Through the implementation of the above systems, the company is committed to maintaining a safe, hygienic, and environmentally friendly operating environment.

Implementation of Environmental Management

Environmental Management Achievements in 2024:

• Continued implementation of environmental control operations related to product quality and safety in accordance with ISO 13485 standards. No major environmental violations were recorded during the year.
• Monthly pest control services were carried out by a third-party contractor, totaling 12 sessions for the year. All records were properly maintained, and the results met the required standards.
• Factory and production areas were maintained according to daily, weekly, and annual cleaning plans. At least one internal audit was conducted during the year to ensure continued compliance with environmental standards.
• Laboratory facilities and waste management operations were conducted in accordance with internal company work instruction. No safety or environmental incidents occurred during the year.
